Medical-grade topical therapies are the first line of treatment for vitiligo and include prescription corticosteroids to reduce autoimmune inflammation and calcineurin inhibitors (tacrolimus, pimecrolimus) to help restore pigment — particularly on the face and sensitive areas. Opzelura (ruxolitinib) cream is the first FDA-approved topical treatment specifically for repigmentation in non-segmental vitiligo.

The Xtrac excimer laser emits a targeted 308nm UVB beam directly onto vitiligo patches, stimulating melanocyte activity and repigmentation without exposing the surrounding healthy skin to UV light. It is the most effective phototherapy option for localized vitiligo and is particularly successful on the face. Treatments are twice weekly; most patients see measurable repigmentation within 20–30 sessions. Available at our Woodbridge, NJ location.
