Botox & Neuromodulators

Reduce fine lines and wrinkles with FDA-approved injectable treatments.

Botox and other neuromodulators are among the most popular and effective non-surgical cosmetic treatments available today. At Rao Dermatology, our experienced injectors use these products to smooth wrinkles, prevent new lines from forming, and create a refreshed, natural-looking appearance.

Neuromodulators work by temporarily relaxing the muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles, such as frown lines between the brows, horizontal forehead lines, and crow's feet around the eyes. We offer Botox, Dysport, and other FDA-approved neuromodulators to address your specific concerns.

Our approach emphasizes natural results that enhance your appearance without looking "frozen" or overdone. Each treatment is customized based on your facial anatomy, muscle strength, and aesthetic goals. Results typically appear within 3 to 7 days and last 3 to 4 months.

Botox / Neuromodulators

Botox Cosmetic and other FDA-approved neuromodulators (Dysport, Xeomin, Daxxify) temporarily relax the muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles — crow's feet, forehead lines, and "11" lines between the brows. Results appear within 3–7 days and last 3–4 months, with many patients noticing prevention of deeper wrinkle formation over time with consistent treatment.

Dysport

Dysport is an abobotulinumtoxinA neuromodulator with a slightly faster onset than Botox (often visible within 2–3 days) and a slightly more diffuse spread, making it well-suited for larger treatment areas such as the forehead. Like Botox, results typically last 3–4 months. Many patients who have built tolerance to Botox find Dysport delivers excellent results.

Xeomin

Xeomin (incobotulinumtoxinA) is a "naked" neuromodulator — stripped of complexing proteins found in Botox and Dysport — which may reduce the risk of developing antibody resistance over time. It is FDA-approved for frown lines and is an excellent option for patients seeking a pure formulation or who have experienced diminishing results with other neuromodulators.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does Botox take to work?

You may begin to notice results within 2 to 3 days, with full effects typically visible by 7 to 14 days after treatment. The results last up to 3-4 months, after which the treatment can be repeated.

Is Botox safe?

Botox has been FDA-approved for cosmetic use since 2002 and has an extensive safety record. When administered by a qualified medical professional, it is very safe. Side effects are typically mild and temporary, such as slight bruising or tenderness at the injection site.

At what age should I start Botox?

There is no single "right" age to start Botox. Many patients begin in their late 20s to early 30s as a preventive measure, while others start later when they notice lines becoming more prominent. A consultation with our team can help determine the best timing for you.
